Mount St. Helens: Living with the Volcano that came to Your Backyard

Location: The Mount St. Helens Science and Learning Center
Discover Mount St. Helens with US Geological Survey scientists, US Forest Service rangers and Mount St. Helens Institute educators. This workshop is designed for middle school teachers and will provide a mix of content, instruction, curriculum activities and field experiences. The interdisciplinary curriculum focuses on classroom and field trip activities on the science of volcanoes, the specifics of the May 18, 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens and the hazards associated with living in its shadow. In-door camping or outdoor camping available at the Science and Learning Center.
